Tajikistan also announces expected start date of Ramadan

According to preliminary calculations, the month of Ramadan in Tajikistan is expected to begin on February 18, 2026. The country’s Committee on Religious Affairs told Asia-Plus.

“The final decision on the start of Ramadan will be made at a meeting of the Council of Ulema of Tajikistan in February. During the same meeting, the amounts of fitr alms (charitable donations given during the fasting period), zakat, and fidya will also be announced,” the committee said in a statement.

Earlier, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan reported that Ramadan in the country is expected to begin on February 18.

In addition, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan had indicated in its religious calendar that Ramadan in Kazakhstan would begin on February 19, 2026. The administration also warned that these dates may change depending on the sighting of the new moon.
