6553The Institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Studies has proposed the compilation of a comprehensive list of national values for the Uzbek people. This list would be based on the rich history, spiritual heritage, lifestyle life views, and beliefs that have shaped the identity of the Uzbekistanis over thousands of years.
The following values have been suggested:
1. Respect for parents.
2. Cleanliness.
3. Working hard for success.
4. Uzbek Language.
5. Religious tolerance.
6. Freedom of speech.
7. Promise. (loyalty to the law, duty, and agreement.)
8. Mutual support. (family and friends)
9. Hospitality.
10. Mutual consent.
The question arises as to whether there is a need for such a list of values for the Uzbek people. In general, every nation in the world possesses its own set of values, and Uzbekistan is no exception. These values are deeply intertwined with its history, lifestyle, spirituality, and culture. However, it is crucial not to overlook the necessity of identifying and promoting the most significant values. Although the need for a definitive decision in this regard remains unaddressed, it is apparent that there is a need for such a list.
According to reports, the institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Studies emphasizes the importance of young people being well acquainted with their values. They underscore the significance of compiling comprehensive lists that encompass all the values. However, the practicality of expecting a 14-year-old boy, who has been exposed to the phrase "our values" a hundred times, to memorize an exhaustive list is questionable. This leads to the question of whether a universally recognized list of values exists, which is yet to be determined. Establishing such a list would provide a prism or criterion that could be useful in evaluating various events, laws, and behaviors.
It is worth noting that countries like the United States of America, Denmark, Great Britain, and Russia have already formulated a list of values that are universally applicable to their respective populations.
