8148It was proposed to limit the high speed of cars to 60 kilometers per hour on some streets of Tashkent. However, the people’s deputies of the Tashkent City Council rejected this proposal. This is stated in the council’s decision.
According to the decision, the deputies of the Tashkent City Kenesh asked the deputy head of the traffic safety department of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs Nosirov S. to consider limiting the high speed of vehicles to 60 kilometers per hour on some streets. In the end, taking into account the proposals and objections made by the people’s deputies, a decision was made to include them in the agenda of the next session.
According to the document, the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs and the Directorate of Public Security (Jalilov R.), taking into account of the proposals made by the deputies in connection with the above-mentioned report and eliminating the shortcomings of the deputies of the Tashkent city council on the industry, transport, construction, and public utilities shall again submit to the standing committee on Industry and Utilities for discussion.
The standing committee of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies on Industry, Transport, Construction, Municipal Economy, and Civil Service considered in detail the report submitted by the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, Traffic Safety Authority. Deputies will discuss it at the next session of the Tashkent City Kenesh," says the document.
A reminder that on 4 April this year, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On measures to ensure reliable safety of people on the roads and to reduce sharply the number of deceased, » a republican commission in the sphere of provision was established. Based on the decision of the commission, the maximum speed of movement of vehicles in the cities of Tashkent and Nukus and the centers of the regions with heavy traffic and densely populated areas can be set at 60 kilometers per hour.
