Uzbekistan is set to ramp up its automotive industry, aiming to produce 450,000 cars next year and increase exports to $700 million. This was announced during a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 25, outlining the progress in the sector and goals for 2025.

The plans include enhancing collaboration with regional enterprises and boosting localization efforts. A total of 63 projects worth $325 million will be implemented to produce 700 additional parts domestically.

The automotive industry currently accounts for 10% of Uzbekistan's industrial output. Over the past ten months, the country produced 338,000 passenger vehicles and localized 1,400 types of components. These measures have reduced production costs in the sector by 4%, while exports have reached $455 million during the same period.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized collaboration with Chinese partners to expand production capacities and develop components for electric vehicles. Further tasks were assigned to prioritize local enterprises and strengthen cooperation within the industry.
