Buses in Tashkent will stop accepting cash from January 1

Starting January 1, 2025, cash payments on buses in Tashkent will no longer be accepted. The announcement was made by the press service of "Tashshahartranshizmat" JSC.
Passengers who wish to pay in cash will need to purchase single-use tickets from payment devices installed at or near bus stops.
"We recommend using electronic payment systems to pay for fares quickly and affordably," the statement said.
It should be noted that earlier reports indicated that bus and metro fares in Tashkent are set to increase from January 1, 2025. Under the new pricing structure, the fare for cash payments will be 3,000 sums, while payments made through electronic payment systems will cost 1,700 sums.
