3488A gas leak occurred after a truck collided with a high-pressure gas pipeline in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent, leaving hundreds of homes without gas. The incident was reported by the press service of Hududgaz Taminot.
According to the report, the accident resulted in the temporary suspension of gas supply to:
- 300 households in the “Bogbon” neighborhood,
- 400 households in the “Argin” neighborhood,
- 15 wholesale consumers in the affected area.
"Emergency repair crews from the district gas supply department were immediately deployed to the scene. Authorities assured that once the repair work is completed, the gas supply will be gradually restored, with prior notice given to consumers," the report states.
This is not the first major gas disruption in Uzbekistan. Earlier, over 28,000 residents in the Kashkadarya region were left without gas after a pipeline was damaged during excavation work by an unknown excavator operator.
Authorities continue to urge caution around gas infrastructure to prevent future accidents and minimize disruptions to residents.
