Newborn baby abandoned in a package on Tashkent street (video)

A newborn baby was discovered in a package on the streets of Tashkent, according to the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.  

On January 15, at approximately 7:30 AM, a resident of the Zarbdor neighborhood in the Yangihayot district noticed movement coming from a market package on the street. As the package shifted, the unmistakable sound of a baby’s cry was heard. Upon closer inspection, a one-day-old baby was found inside.  

The concerned citizen immediately contacted emergency services. Upon arrival, responders assessed the baby’s condition and transported him to the hospital for urgent medical care.  

An ambulance doctor confirmed that the baby had been born roughly an hour before the discovery. Notably, the umbilical cord had been cut in an unusual manner. Thankfully, the baby’s condition is currently stable.  

The Department for Coordination of Internal Affairs in the Yangi Hayat District is now conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
