Several historical monuments within the Hazrati Imom (Hastimom) complex in Tashkent are set to undergo restoration. This decision was announced during an extraordinary session of the Scientific Expert Council under the Cultural Heritage Agency, held on April 9, 2025.

The council approved restoration plans for the Abu Bakr Kaffol Shoshiy Mausoleum, Baroqxon and Mo‘yi Muborak Madrasas, as well as Namozgoh and Tillashaykh Mosques, all located on Zarqaynar Street. The projects were unanimously endorsed, with the condition that the restoration must not damage the monuments. It was specified that special handmade Muslim bricks, measuring 250×250×50 mm, should be used for the foundation.

Oversight of the restoration work will be managed by the Tashkent City Directorate of the Cultural Heritage Agency and the “Scientific-Research Institute of Cultural Heritage.”

Additional projects include renovations for the Qiziltepa Historical Museum in Navoiy region and construction of a mausoleum and auxiliary buildings at the Manak Ota pilgrimage site in Andijan’s Khojaobod district.

The Hazrati Imom complex received special attention from Uzbekistan's First President, Islam Karimov. In early 2007, Karimov issued a decree establishing the Hazrati Imom Public Fund, which undertook extensive construction, renovation, and landscaping efforts to restore the historical integrity of the site. The complex comprises the Mo‘yi Muborak Madrasa, Qaffol Shoshiy Mausoleum, Baroqxon Madrasa, Hazrati Imom Congregational Mosque, Tillashaykh Mosque, and the Imam al-Bukhari Islamic Institute. That same year, the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) declared Tashkent the “Capital of Islamic Culture.”

Previously, tree-clearing activities were reported in the Hazrati Imom neighborhood of Tashkent's Olmazor district.
