Investigator who was caught with a bribe in Tashkent ran away

19477A senior investigator from the Yunusabad district prosecutor's office in Tashkent was caught accepting a bribe but fled to an unknown location. Following this, a criminal case was initiated against him, and a search warrant was issued. This information was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The event took place based on a complaint by a citizen named I.K. The citizen reported that the senior investigator, Sh.Sh., demanded money in exchange for a favorable resolution of a criminal case involving LLC officials. The bribe amount was set at 40,000 US dollars.
On October 7, Sh.Sh. was caught red-handed taking the bribe but escaped to avoid prosecution. The money was seized as physical evidence.
A criminal case has been opened against the investigator under Article 210, Part 3, Clause "a" (Bribery) of the Criminal Code.
"In his absence, a detention order was issued, and he is currently being sought by law enforcement," the report states.
It is worth noting that previously, Bahadir Gulomov, the prosecutor of Kogon district, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for accepting a bribe of 100,000 US dollars and was barred from working in the prosecutor's office for three years.
