Transformer catches fire at substation in Tashkent

A transformer at one of the substations in Tashkent’s Olmazor district caught fire today, June 1. The Tashkent city emergency department reported the incident.
According to the department, at 6:57 p.m., the Tashkent city emergency department received a report that a transformer was on fire inside a substation located on Kichik Khalqa Yoli Street in Olmazor district.
Rescue crews arrived at the scene at 7:01 p.m. The fire was contained at 7:12 p.m. and extinguished at 7:17 p.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The situation was brought fully under control by the Tashkent city emergency department.
Earlier, a fire broke out in a newly constructed building in the Keles settlement of Tashkent district, Tashkent region. As a result, construction waste burned across an area of about 40 square metres in the basement of the building.
