In Tashkent, a mother who prevented her child from attending school and forced him to commit petty thefts has had her child placed in a social and legal assistance center for minors. This information was released by the National Social Protection Agency on May 18.

It was revealed that A.Q., a 14-year-old from the Yunusobod district of Tashkent, had been unable to attend school since October 17, 2023, due to his mother S.G.'s unreasonable objections. Isolated at home, the boy was also forced by his mother to steal from various stores.

The situation was resolved through the cooperation of staff from the "Inson" social services center and the neighborhood preventive inspector. To safeguard the child's legal interests, he was placed in the social and legal assistance center for minors on May 16.

The agency's report also states, "We continue to provide legal advice and necessary assistance to A.Q."

As a reminder, a father in Fergana was previously imprisoned for 10 days for opposing his child's education.
