Yesterday, on October 29, citizens who had planned to hold and participate in an unauthorized rally in support of Palestine gathered at Amir Timur Avenue in Tashkent. This was reported by the source QALAMPIR.UZ.

A few days ago, calls for a rally appeared on social networks. The banners circulating on these platforms depicted the statue of Amir Timur and a crowd surrounding it, holding both Uzbekistan and Palestine flags. The banners displayed phrases like "Shoulder with Palestine," "15 days do not scare me," and "If we are the majority, we will be heard."

According to QALAMPIR.UZ, people began to gather on Amir Timur Avenue on October 29 at around 2:00 p.m. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene explained to the gathered individuals that holding a rally, not permitted under Uzbekistan's legislation, would result in legal consequences. Subsequently, many people left the area.

According to the information available to us, 5-6 individuals who did not comply with the demands of law enforcement agencies were taken into custody. According to other local media in Uzbekistan, more than 100 people were detained.

For information, Article 201 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan stipulates that the violation of procedures for organizing meetings, rallies, street marches, or demonstrations is subject to a fine of up to 60 times the base calculation amount or administrative detention for a period of up to 15 days. If the organizer of the event commits the same offense after receiving an administrative penalty, it may lead to criminal liability with a potential punishment of imprisonment for up to 3 years.
