4317More than 500 trees can be transplanted in Tashkent. This was announced by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
It is noted that on September 27 of this year, the issue of tree removal was discussed within the framework of the construction project of overpasses connecting Babur Street in Yakkasaray District with Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport and adjacent to Sadiqjon Tolipov Street.
Within the framework of the project, an appeal was received by the joint-stock company "Koprik Qurilish" from the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the city of Tashkent through the State Services Center. The first stage of this project will be held in November 2023, and it is expected to be completed with partial traffic opening.
It is reported that the current overpass has a capacity of 36,000 vehicles per day and, in practice, serves 1,500 vehicles per hour. The overpass under construction can handle 6,000 vehicles per hour, i.e., 144,000 vehicles per day. This prevents traffic jams and reduces emissions by up to 4 times.
Initially, it was planned to move 1,400 trees and bushes as the project also included a part of the avenue area. After the project design changed, the number of trees that needed to be moved decreased. At the moment, 69 trees are planned to be moved in the first phase, and more than 500 trees can be transplanted in total. Each transplanted tree will be cared for over three years.
