A 10-month-old baby had part of his intestines surgically removed in Tashkent after developing severe health complications from being fed fast food. The incident was reported by the "Millar" program.
According to the report, the baby's mother, who was traveling to Tashkent from a remote region, purchased pita bread and French fries for lunch. She chewed the food and fed it to her crying baby. Shortly after, the infant’s condition deteriorated.
Doctors said the baby showed signs of frequent urination, internal bleeding, abdominal swelling, and persistent pain. Due to intestinal rot, several surgeries are now required. In the first stage, the necrotic section of the intestine was removed and a stoma was created. The child will live with this stoma for about six months before undergoing another operation to restore the intestinal tract.
The attending physician emphasized that infants should be fed breast milk until the age of three, with complementary foods introduced only after one year. He also warned of tragic outcomes when babies are given inappropriate foods, including processed meat or fatty cuts.
This incident follows earlier warnings from Doctor of Medical Sciences Khurshid Fozilov, who stated that excessive consumption of fast food, fried and fatty dishes, sugary products, and carbonated drinks is contributing to a rise in heart attacks among young people in Uzbekistan.
