Kindergarten teacher beats 3-year-old boy in Tashkent

An employee of a private preschool educational institution in Tashkent abused and beat a 3-year-old kindergarten student, according to the Children's Ombudsman.

The incident came to light when the children's ombudsman received a complaint from parents I.N. and B.N., residents of Tashkent. In their appeal, the parents reported that their child, born in 2021, was enrolled in a private preschool educational institution. They alleged that on June 29 of this year, the duty teacher, identified as Sh.K. (female), beat and abused their child.

I.N. stated that when he approached the institution's director to obtain a copy of the video footage, the director refused to provide it, and no action was taken against the educator.

Following a request from the children's ombudsman to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the situation was investigated by ministry officials.

As a result of the investigation, severe disciplinary action was taken against the kindergarten teacher, Sh.K. The Ministry also stated that it will systematically monitor the prevention of child abuse in the institution's future activities.
