On May 9, a festive fireworks display will take place at the “New Uzbekistan” park in Tashkent. This was established by a resolution signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 19.

The main events will be held under the slogan “Heroism in the cause of prosperity, peace, and defense of the Motherland will not be forgotten.” War veterans and front-line workers will receive both material and moral support, including anniversary medals. In addition, solemn ceremonies, cultural and educational events, and intergenerational meetings are planned. Veterans will also be provided with free access to sanatoriums, patronage services, and medical care.

As part of the celebrations, fireworks will be launched at 9:00 p.m. in the “New Uzbekistan” park. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been tasked with ensuring public order, citizen safety, and fire prevention measures during the event. Efforts will also be made to improve the living conditions of World War II veterans, particularly those who are alone or in financial need.

Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Secretary of the Security Council under President Viktor Makhmudov have been assigned to oversee the implementation of this resolution.

Earlier, it was announced that World War II participants and disabled veterans residing in Uzbekistan would each receive a one-time financial assistance payment of $10,000.
