Individual promising $500,000 contract was caught in Tashkent

7655A man who promised to arrange a $500,000 contract for a businessman was apprehended in the Shaikhontohur district of Tashkent, according to the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
The incident occurred during a rapid operation aimed at protecting the rights of business entities, conducted in cooperation with the Shaikhontohur district branch of the department, CS, and the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). N.Sh., the head of "S.S." LLC, who has a prior conviction, assured businessman U.I. that he could secure a construction contract worth $500,000. In return, N.Sh. demanded a 10 percent commission on the contract's value. He was caught red-handed receiving $50,000 in fraudulent payments.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 168 (Fraud) and Article 28, 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, with investigations underway.
Earlier, in the Tashkent region, individuals were arrested for promising to acquire about 5 hectares of state reserve land for $1.5 million through connections and manipulated auctions.
