Unauthorized greenhouses in Tashkent region exposed, massive gas theft detected (video)

Authorities in the Tashkent region uncovered illegal greenhouses that caused substantial financial damage due to unauthorized gas usage. The Ministry of Energy reported that a recent raid in the Zangiota district exposed one such case, with losses estimated at 1.6 billion soums.

In the first incident, a resident of the "Istiklol" residential complex, identified as K.B., had illegally set up a greenhouse in his apartment. He bypassed the gas meter and used four non-standard burners to consume natural gas unlawfully. Officials recalculated the gas volume, determining that the damage amounted to 1 billion 684 million soums.

Another violation was discovered in the Kibray district, where a resident of the "Obod" residential complex, T.R., had similarly connected a greenhouse to the natural gas network without authorization. The recalculated losses from this case totaled 291 million 926 thousand soums.

The Ministry of Energy stated that all relevant documents have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.

Authorities remind the public that a previous case in the Ahangaran district revealed another greenhouse illegally using natural gas worth 2 billion 955 million soums.
