Individuals who promised admission to educational institutions in exchange for bribes have been detained in Tashkent city and the Namangan region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the report, during an operation carried out jointly with the Uchtepa district department and the State Security Service, citizen D.X. was detained with material evidence. He had allegedly gained the trust of citizen Z.A. by claiming that, through acquaintances in high-ranking positions, he could secure a high score in the creative entrance exam for the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan. In return, he received $2,000 for arranging admission on a state grant basis.

Likewise, in the Namangan region, a separate operation was conducted in coordination with the Naryn district department and the State Security Service. During this operation, citizen A.V. was caught accepting $2,000 from citizen J.U. in exchange for securing admission to a private university in Tashkent for a three-year program.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 28, 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative proceedings are currently underway.

It is worth noting that similar cases of illegal admissions to higher educational institutions were previously reported in Tashkent and Fergana. In particular, a department teacher at Tashkent State University of Economics was caught with material evidence after receiving $4,000 from a Tashkent resident in exchange for arranging admission through his official contacts.
