44628A 33-year-old citizen has died at the Main Department of Internal Affairs in Tashkent city. This information was reported by the capital's IAD.
It is noted that the General Department of Internal Affairs in Tashkent city exposed the criminal activities of an organized criminal group that committed extremely serious crimes within the capital's territory. Under the framework of the criminal case initiated by Article 165, Part 3, Clause "a" (Extortion) and Article 277, Part 2, Clause "b" (Hooliganism), rapid investigative actions were taken.
It is known that on July 29 of this year, at 22:00, in front of Shota Rustaveli Street, Yakkasaray District, near the "Brothers Cemetery" alley, a criminal group consisting of 7-8 individuals assaulted M.R., a citizen born in 1986. They beat him and then forcibly took him into a car, transporting him to an undisclosed apartment, where they demanded money using force.
The victim was also coerced into writing a receipt claiming that he had borrowed 860,000 US dollars from unidentified individuals in Turkey.
During the investigation, it was discovered that in June of this year, M.R., a businessman, was forcibly held in an unknown apartment for 2 days during his stay in Turkey. The victim was subjected to pressure, leading to the registration of 2 properties worth 300 thousand US dollars under his parents' names by the criminal group members. Fearful of further attacks and pressure, the victim refrained from contacting law enforcement agencies or medical institutions regarding this situation.
However, on July 31 of this year, due to a deterioration in his health, he was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of "closed brain injury, concussion, right cheekbone fracture, and numerous lacerations on his body."
As a result of swift actions, two members of this organized criminal group were apprehended: U.D., born in 1990 (previously convicted under Article 164 - Invasion, and Article 166 - Robbery of the Criminal Code), and F.Kh., born in 1991 (previously convicted under Article 168 - Fraud, and Article 176 - Creation and transfer of counterfeit money or securities of the Criminal Code). Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the remaining members of the criminal group.
On August 12 of this year, while preparing a report against the suspect U.D. based on Article 224 of the Criminal Procedure Code, he suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness, indicating feeling unwell. An ambulance was summoned, and initial aid was administered by IAO staff. Unfortunately, U.D. lost consciousness and passed away before emergency medical assistance arrived. According to the preliminary diagnosis, the suspect's death was attributed to a "severe stage of cirrhosis of the liver and acute heart failure."
The Tashkent city prosecutor's office is currently investigating this situation. Simultaneously, a medical examination by the relevant court has been scheduled to ascertain the cause of U.D.'s demise.
Photos and comments circulating on social networks suggest that the young man may have been subjected to torture before his death.
We would like to remind you that on May 22 of this year, 21-year-old Hafizullah Turgunbayev, who was brought to the IAO of Chilonzor district in Tashkent city, passed away. According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the young man died after jumping from a window on the 4th floor of the building in an attempt to evade the investigation.
