The speed limit on certain sections of the Tashkent–Chorvoq highway has been reduced to 80 km/h. This was stipulated in a decision adopted by the Tashkent Regional Council of People’s Deputies on February 2.
According to the decision, failure to comply with the установлен speed limits on the state-significance “Bektemir–Chirchiq–Gazalkent–Chorbog Fortress” highway, located in Tashkent Region, resulted in 63 traffic accidents along the 19–74 km stretch over the course of 2025. As a result, 15 people were killed and 50 others sustained injuries.
The document also states that on six sections of the 4P-12 “Bektemir–Chirchiq–Gazalkent–Chorbog Fortress” highway located outside residential areas, the maximum permitted speed has been set at 80 km/h, reduced from the previous limit of 100 km/h.
The main locations where the new speed restrictions have been introduced are as follows:

It is worth noting that earlier reports said that a speed limit sign in Angren had been altered by unidentified individuals.
