More than 500 prohibited items have been seized at Tashkent airport by the Aviation Security Service since the beginning of this year, the ’’Uzbekistan Airports’’ reported.

According to the report, between January 1 and August 30 of this year, 535 prohibited items were confiscated at Tashkent Airport. Among them were cold weapons (knives, daggers, knuckle dusters), military weapons and replicas, pyrotechnics (firecrackers, sparklers), gas and pepper spray canisters, batons and electroshock devices, chemical substances, and multipurpose devices (toy pistols, bullet-shaped keychains, as well as drones).

It was stated that most of these items pose a potential threat to the safety of passengers and crew. Even souvenir cartridges and toy weapons can raise suspicions, cause flight delays, or lead to incidents on board an aircraft. Compliance with transportation rules not only facilitates a smooth security check but also plays an important role in ensuring flight safety.

It is worth noting that earlier, a citizen was found storing 385 grams of gunpowder in two yellow metal containers, along with 75 live cartridges of various calibers intended for hunting weapons in his home in the Karakul district of the Bukhara region.
