An amount of 846.5 million soums has been designated from the local budget's reserve fund in Tashkent to address immediate flood-related emergencies during the rainy season. This decision, signed by acting mayor Shavkat Umurzaqov on February 15, allocates funds for urgent repairs.

The allocated funds will be managed by the Specialized Department for Repair and Maintenance of Drainage and Collectors under the General Department of Improvement of Tashkent City, specifically for acquiring necessary equipment and materials.

First Deputy Mayor Hotambek Shakirov is tasked with overseeing the decision's implementation and providing a report to the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies on fund utilization.

During a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 29, focusing on housing, construction, communal services, transportation, and ecology, concerns were raised about Tashkent's drainage system during the rainy season. Consequently, the city administration was instructed to address construction issues at critical points in the drainage system and formulate a comprehensive drainage system master plan for the capital by September 1.
