“Taliban” is again asking for electricity from Uzbekistan

Local

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, Amirkhan Mutaqqi, issued an appeal asking Uzbekistan to export electricity under a contract.  This was reported by Hasht-e Subh Daily.

Mutaqqi cited the continuing shortage of electricity in Afghanistan's Kabul city and regions as the reason.

He also expressed hope that the Afghanistan Agricultural Development Fund in Kabul will fulfill its promises by the agreement signed between the government of Uzbekistan and the Afghan Electricity Company.

For information, the electricity imported from Uzbekistan was supplying several regions of Afghanistan. These include Kabul and Parwan, Kapisa, Panjsher, Nangarhar, Lagmon, Logar, Pakti, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, and Baghlan regions.

It should be recalled that on 13 January of this year, the export of electricity from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan was stopped due to a technical failure.
