4058A 17-year-old from the Tashkent region and his accomplices, who planned to join an international terrorist organization, have been arrested. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this incident.
According to the report, K.I., born in 2007, became influenced by extremist ideas found on the Internet. As a result, he formed an illegal "community" with 16 close acquaintances, intending to join the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" operating abroad.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 244 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Public Unrest).
The Ministry urged citizens to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to foreign extremist ideologies spread via the Internet, stressing, "Do not be indifferent to your fate."
Earlier, in the Jizzakh region, a 27-year-old man was imprisoned for distributing materials and providing financial support to international terrorist organizations. During the trial at the Zamin District Criminal Court, the defendant expressed remorse. He was sentenced to 8 years and 1 month of imprisonment.
