Gas theft causes almost 4 billion soums in losses in Termez

A construction materials warehouse that illegally consumed natural gas worth 3.9 billion soums was uncovered in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region. This was reported by the Inspectorate for Control of Electricity, Petroleum Products, and Gas Use.

During an inspection, it was revealed that the warehouse, owned by “X. Q. M.” LLC and located in Termez, had been connected to the gas network without a meter and was illegally using natural gas.

According to preliminary estimates, this violation caused 3 billion 954 million soums in damage to the power supply company.

Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting pre-investigation inspections into the case.

For reference, in June this year, it was reported that the illegal use of energy resources caused 135.6 billion soums in damage to the system.
