A 35-year-old man was arrested in Tashkent for illegally trading crypto-assets on Telegram. This was reported after court documents were reviewed by QALAMPIR.UZ.
On September 7, during a swift operation by law enforcement, authorities discovered that the individual, identified as A.A., was using the "Koshelyok" Telegram channel to circulate crypto assets unlawfully.
On September 20, 2024, A.A. was sentenced by the Chilonzor District Court of Criminal Cases in Tashkent. During the court session, he expressed remorse for his actions and stated that he had not been aware of the legal requirements for trading crypto-assets. He requested leniency in sentencing.
The court found A.A. guilty under Article 155-4, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, imposing a sentence of 15 days of administrative imprisonment. Additionally, a "Redmi 13C" phone, used in the illegal activities, was destroyed as evidence.
Earlier this year, a 21-year-old man from the Karmana district of the Navoi region was also sentenced to 10 days in prison for engaging in illegal currency trading.
