TDT leaders meet in Bishkek

4525The 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT) is set to take place on November 6 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as announced by Muratbek Azimbakiyev, head of the foreign policy department in the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration.
Leaders from the five member states—Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan—will participate in the summit, along with leaders from the organization's observer countries. The theme of this year’s summit is "Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All."
"The heads of state will address the continued development of multilateral cooperation within the TDT, make decisions on current organizational issues, and sign several multilateral documents, including the Summit's final declaration," said Azimbakiyev.
Following the summit, Kyrgyzstan will assume the chairmanship of the TDT for 2025.
During its chairmanship, Kyrgyzstan plans to host several events aimed at enhancing regional ties, creating new economic growth opportunities, and improving the standard of living in member countries.
The 10th-anniversary summit of the TDT was held on November 3 last year in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and People's Council Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan. Additionally, on July 6 this year, an informal TDT summit was held in Shusha, Azerbaijan. Attendees included Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, TDT Secretary-General Kubanichbek Omuraliyev, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Ersin Tatar (an observer), and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
