In an unexpected turn of events, the civil case against Tatyana Karimova, wife of Uzbekistan's First President Islam Karimov, has been postponed indefinitely by the Yakkasaray inter-district court. Aziz Obidov, the secretary of the press service of the Supreme Court, confirmed this information to KALAMPIR.UZ.

Originally scheduled for today, June 26, the court session was adjourned due to a lack of pertinent documentation and further investigative work. In addition, a closed hearing was approved as per the request made by the official representative of the defendant, Tatyana Karimova, and the plaintiff, Pyotr Karimov.

The lawsuit revolves around a dispute concerning inheritance rights. Pyotr Karimov, Islam Karimov's son from his first marriage, has taken on the role of the plaintiff in this case.

It is worth noting that Pyotr Karimov, who was apprehended on charges of domestic violence against his wife in the Russian city of Krasnogorsk in May of this year, had planned to travel to Uzbekistan to attend the inheritance court proceedings.

The indefinite postponement of Tatyana Karimova's trial has left both parties awaiting further developments in this closely watched legal battle.
