10521Former First Lady of Uzbekistan Tatyana Karimova honored the memory of the First President, Islam Karimov. She shared this on her Instagram page.
Tatyana Karimova posted a picture of herself laying flowers at the grave of the First President and commented:
"We ask Allah Almighty to accept the righteous deeds of our first President for the sake of the freedom of the Motherland, the peace of the country, the restoration of our national and religious values, and the well-being of the people, and to bless his end. May he rest in heaven. You will live in our hearts forever," wrote Karimova.
During his visit to Samarkand on August 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the Hazrat Hizr complex and laid flowers at the mausoleum of Islam Karimov. Quranic verses were recited and prayers were offered.
For information, Islam Karimov passed away on September 2, 2016, due to a serious illness at the age of 78. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev declared this date as a day of commemoration for Islam Karimov. By the President's decision on January 25, 2017, efforts were made to perpetuate the memory of the First President. Major complexes in the country and central streets in cities are named after Islam Karimov. A scientific and educational memorial complex named after Islam Karimov was established in Tashkent, and a mausoleum was built in Samarkand.
