Tashiev’s deputies also dismissed

Earlier, it was reported that Kamchybek Tashiev had been dismissed as Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security. Three of his deputies have also been removed from their posts, the presidential administration said.

According to the statement, First Deputy Chairman Kurbonbek Avazov, Director of the Cybersecurity Center Daniel Risaliev and Director of the Anti-Terror Center Elizar Smanov were dismissed.

Abdukarim Alimboyev was relieved of his post as First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security and appointed Chairman of the State Border Service.

Alimboyev was born on April 19, 1973, and holds higher education degrees. He graduated from the Military Institute of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee in 1995 and from the Military Academy of Russia’s Federal Security Service in 2006. From 1993 to 2013, he served in various command positions in Kyrgyzstan’s Border Service. He later held senior posts within the Border Service and has served as its chairman since May 2016. He is married and has three children.

Alisher Erboyev was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security and Director of the Anti-Terror Center. He was born on November 23, 1973, in Jalal-Abad region. He graduated from Russia’s Military Air Defense Academy in 1997 and later studied law at Osh State University in 2015.

Erboyev served in Kyrgyzstan’s national security bodies from 1997 to 2009 and later held positions in the Financial Police, the customs service and the private sector before returning to the security committee. From 2021 to 2025, he served as a member of parliament.

Uranbek Shodibekov was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security and Director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Center.

Earlier, Tashiev was dismissed and replaced by his deputy Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as acting chairman. Presidential press secretary Askat Alagozov said the changes were made in the interests of the state to prevent divisions in society and government institutions and to strengthen unity.

Recently, rumors have circulated that the head of the security services might run in the upcoming presidential election. Tashiev has repeatedly said he does not intend to run and supports President Sadyr Japarov.
