A shepherd in Surkhandarya has been convicted of murder, according to Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court.

The incident occurred in a barn on a farm where the defendant, born in 1967, had an argument with the farm guard. Investigations revealed that the defendant deliberately planned the murder.

According to the court findings, the defendant initially strangled the victim with a straw rope, rendering him unconscious. He then dragged the victim into the barn and inflicted severe bodily harm with a knife, leading to the victim’s death at the scene.

Additionally, a search of the defendant's house uncovered illegally stored rifle bullets.

During an open session at the Termez District Criminal Court, the defendant was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 97 (Intentional Murder) and Part 1 of Article 248 (Illegal Handling of Firearms, Ammunition, or Explosives) of the Criminal Code. The court sentenced him to 11 years of continuous imprisonment, with partial aggregation of sentences in accordance with Article 59 of the Criminal Code (Imposition of Punishment for Committing Several Crimes).

It is worth noting that a similar case occurred earlier in Tashkent, where a man killed his wife by striking her with a hammer. In that case, the defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison under Part 1 of Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code.
