Teacher beats primary school student in Surkhandarya

A disturbing incident has come to light, where a teacher allegedly beat a primary school student in Surkhandarya. News of the event spread on social media, prompting the Regional Department of Preschool and School Education to respond.

On March 18, a 3rd grade student at General Secondary School No. 45 in Sherabad district was reprimanded and slapped on the head by a primary school teacher after the student was seen admiring seasonal flowers in a field. The teacher's actions were condemned, and a draft order has been submitted to the district legal center to apply disciplinary measures in accordance with labor legislation against the teacher involved.

The department further revealed that another primary school teacher, in an ongoing disagreement with the school principal, may have encouraged the 3rd grade students to provide false testimonies on March 19 and filmed the video that has since circulated online.

To further investigate, a report has been filed with the district police department, and a legal evaluation of the situation will be conducted. 

This incident follows a similar case in Samarkand region, where a school principal was also reported to have beaten a student.
