The heating season in the Surkhandarya region is officially set to commence on November 1, following a decree signed by regional governor Ulugbek Kasimov on October 29.

In preparation for the season, city and district administrations, along with social sector organizations and communal enterprises, have been instructed to establish round-the-clock staffing starting October 31. This measure aims to ensure that gas and electricity supply enterprises provide a continuous supply of natural gas and electricity to boiler houses, residential areas, and social sector facilities throughout the region. For settlements lacking natural gas access, the supply of liquefied gas has been mandated.

Emergency recovery services in both Termiz city and the regional districts have also been tasked with preparing the necessary equipment and resources for the heating season.

Additionally, the governor's order outlines that essential services—including Higher Education, Preschool and School Education, and Health Departments—must complete necessary preparations and ensure coal delivery to the population by December 1.

Meanwhile, in Tashkent, it has been reported on social media that the heating system would be activated on November 10. However, an employee from "Veolia Energy Tashkent" has refuted these claims, stating that the organization is currently awaiting the mayor's decision on when to turn on the heating system. It was noted that the activation dates can vary each year, depending on the prevailing air temperatures.
