It was found that 7 billion soums of damage was caused to 4 archaeological monuments in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.


It is noted that the prosecutor's office, in cooperation with the Cultural Heritage Agency, is carrying out systematic control measures aimed at the protection of historical monuments.
During these events, it was determined that 7 billion soums of damage was caused to 4 archaeological monuments in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region.


In particular:


888 million soums due to the cutting of 40 m2 of the "Tallagan Tepa" monument of the V-I centuries BC and the construction of a road;
4.7 billion soums due to the destruction of 200 m2 of the "Ghorintep" monument of the V-VIII centuries and the destruction of houses;
266 million soums due to the cutting of 12 m2 of the "Khushvaqtepa" monument of the I-IV centuries and the construction of a toilet;
Damage of 1.2 billion soums was caused as a result of cutting 56 m2 of soil of the V-VII century monument "Toshtepa" and building a barn.


According to Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, a criminal case has been initiated in connection with this situation. An investigation is currently underway.
