Earlier, it was reported that a fire broke out in a state reserve located in the Surkhandarya region and was extinguished after nearly nine hours. However, smoke continues to rise from the remains of burned branches in the reserve, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, the fire in the Surkhan Reserve started on July 23 at 3:52 pm, when the regional Emergency Department received the initial report. The blaze was contained by rescuers and staff from relevant organizations by 10:25 pm and fully extinguished by 00:35 on the night of July 24.

At the same time, smoke can still be seen in some parts of the area where the fire was put out. Officials emphasized that this situation will not lead to a re-ignition of the fire.

“This situation is fully under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and employees of the relevant organizations. Preventive measures are currently being taken to ensure the fire does not recur,” the report stated.

For context, earlier in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a fire broke out over two hectares of dry grass. It was extinguished by rescuers and staff of relevant organizations in approximately 6.5 hours.
