WBA welterweight champion Eimantas Stanionis will face IBF champion Jaron Ennis in a highly anticipated unification fight on April 12, 2025. The announcement was made by the press service of Matchroom promotion.

Stanionis, from Lithuania, was originally set to defend his title against Uzbek boxer Shahram Giyasov, who was the WBA's number one contender. However, the WBA had also mandated the fight between Stanionis and Giyasov. Due to the unification opportunity with Ennis, Stanionis' title defense was postponed.

As of now, Stanionis boasts an impressive professional record of 16 bouts, with 15 victories. One of his bouts was canceled. His most recent fight took place in May 2024, where he defeated Gabriel Maestre on points to successfully retain the WBA belt.

Ennis, on the other hand, has had 34 professional bouts, with 33 wins, one stoppage, and no losses. His last fight took place in November 2024, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Karen Chukhajian to retain his IBF title.
