The First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee, Mubin Mirzayev, has been dismissed due to negligence and irresponsibility. This was announced today, January 27, during a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held at the Security Directorate under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent City.

During the meeting, the Head of State pointed out that payment discipline had not been properly ensured by the Shaykhontohur District Tax Inspectorate at the Chorsu market, while the situation at the Malika trade complex was described as even more alarming.

Although nearly 1,500 entrepreneurs operate at the complex, only one quarter of them are officially registered, and 25 percent do not pay even 1 million soums in taxes per month. In addition, in December, trade revenues amounting to 600 billion soums withdrawn through plastic cards were concealed.

The Tashkent City Tax Department has been fulfilling its budget plan by collecting excessive payments from well-performing entrepreneurs. In particular, excessive payments totaling 876 billion soums were collected from 46,400 enterprises.

Cases of artificially generating excessive value-added tax payments and illegally reimbursing them from the budget have increased within the Tax Committee. Last year, criminal cases were initiated against 20 tax officials in connection with the illegal refund of this tax.

Responsibility for this area lay with the First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee, Mubin Mirzayev, who had been working in this position for seven years. His negligence and irresponsibility were highlighted at the meeting, and Mubin Mirzayev was dismissed.
