Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova, who competed in the boxing matches at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has been awarded the "Jasorat (Courage)" medal. The relevant presidential decree has been signed.

Turdibekova, who competed in the -57 kg category, was defeated by Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-Ting at the Olympics. Ultimately, Lin Yu-Ting became the Olympic champion in that weight category.

Lin was disqualified from the 2023 Women's World Boxing Championship by the International Boxing Association (IBA) for failing gender conformity tests.

Umar Kremlev, President of the IBA, stated that it is a disgrace for the International Olympic Committee that Lin Yu-Ting was allowed to participate in the Olympics.

It should be noted that Sitora Turdibekova was awarded a house in the Bulungur district of the Samarkand region, where she was born and raised. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, remarked during the award ceremony for the Olympic winners that the most unfortunate incident at the Paris Olympics was when male athletes entered the ring to compete against women.
