The World Chess Cup, which is being hosted in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, continues.  Grandmaster Javahir Sindorov from Uzbekistan, who continues his progress in the competition, went to the 1/16 finals of the tournament.

In the 1/32 final, Sindorov competed with Maxim Vache-Lagrave from France.  In the first game, the Uzbek chess player played in white pieces and signed a draw.  In the 2nd game, even though Sindorov played in black pieces, he outplayed his opponent by making great moves.  Thanks to the victory, the Uzbek chess player also gained valuable rating points.

Now Sindorov will try his hand against Indian Arjun Erigaisi in the 1/16 finals.

Let’s remind that two representatives of Uzbekistan, Nodirbek Abdusattarov and Nodirbek Yaqubboyev, stopped their participation in the competition.  In the World Cup 1/64 finals, Abdusattarov lost to his Turkish opponent, who was 60 places lower than him in the rating, while Yakubboyev lost to the representative of Hungary with a score of 1:1-1:2.
