Mirziyoyev and Rahmon attend concert in Tashkent

On March 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, jointly attended a traditional concert featuring artists from both countries at the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.

According to the report, the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are bound by relations that date back centuries, as well as shared spiritual and religious values, traditions, and a rich cultural heritage.

The traditions of friendship, mutual respect, and good neighborliness that have developed over centuries continue to be preserved and enriched in both countries.

The cultural event served as a clear confirmation of this. The concert program featured outstanding works of national music and performing arts reflecting the unique and rich cultures of the two nations.

Joint performances by Uzbek and Tajik artists and ensembles symbolized mutual understanding, spiritual closeness, and active cultural exchange.

Earlier, Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tashkent on a state visit. He was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and an official reception ceremony was held at the Kuksaroy residence.

Later, the two leaders held talks in a narrow format at the Kuksaroy residence and conducted the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. They also took part in a ceremony to launch major cooperation projects and attended the signing and exchange of bilateral documents following the council meeting. In addition, a ceremonial event was held to mark the opening of the new building of Tajikistan’s embassy in Tashkent as part of the state visit.
