Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarizes himself with the construction projects of Tashkent

Today 23 September, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of construction objects.  This is reported by the press service of the president.

Initially, proposals for the Olympic City were considered.  This complex will host the Asian Youth Games, which will be held in Tashkent in 2025.  Following international requirements, an Olympic stadium, indoor sports complexes, a water sports palace, training grounds, and a rowing pool will be built in the city.

In the previous presentation, the president said that these sports complexes will remain the heritage of the people, and it is necessary to build them qualitatively.

Therefore, foreign companies with extensive experience in this field will be involved in the design and subsequent construction processes.

The Head of State stressed the importance of universal sports complexes.  Recommendations were made to save energy by installing solar panels on stadiums and buildings and planting more trees on wastelands

The project of the «New Uzbekistan» university was also considered in the presentation.  For this purpose, a space has been allocated in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital and it is planned to build educational buildings, administration, dormitories for teachers and students, a kitchen, library, laboratory, and sports complex.
Now there is the presidential school in this area.  In the future, the agency of Presidential Educational Institutions will be located here.  Thus, the region will be a whole complex, specializing in education.

“Specialized schools are our land.  In them, our children will grow up educated and mature.  The university is an extension of this system and trains modern specialists necessary for our country. Therefore, there should be all conditions and best practices," - said the president.

The Head of State stressed the need for greater involvement in the creative work of local builders.

The next project mentioned in the presentation also focuses on youth development.  According to it, it is planned to build centers, including stadiums, playgrounds, libraries, computer rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and others.

On the instructions of the president, residents had been consulted and places had been identified where such centers would be built.  To date, the construction of sports grounds has started in 171 neighborhoods, 64 of which have been put into operation.

«This was in line with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 11 April of this year «On measures to bring to a new level the involvement of young people in mass sports in neighborhoods. »  According to this decision, 279 districts succeeded and won prizes in the sports competitions of the Olympiad «Five Initiatives. »  To encourage youths in sports, three types of complexes - universal, streetball and workout - will be built in these neighborhoods.

In addition, in 208 neighborhoods without sports infrastructure, fields for streetball and workout will be created », - the president's press service reported.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to the Republic of Korea last December was very productive.  After that, the project of creating a medical cluster in Tashkent gained momentum. According to him, with the support of the Korea Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF), it is planned to build a medical center for adults, a cancer hospital, and a higher education facility.  

These three complexes together with the existing Children’s Medical Center form a single cluster.  An advanced training and treatment system based on the Korean experience will be introduced here.  In total, there will be 900 beds in hospitals.  Construction work will begin in 2023.

The Head of State gave instructions to the officials on the implementation of the project.
