Shavkat Mirziyoyev awards Azerbaijani ambassador

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Huseyn Guliyev today, June 22, as the diplomat concludes his mission in the country. The presidential press service reported this.

According to the report, the Head of State particularly noted the Azerbaijani ambassador’s effective work and his personal contribution to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.

Intensive dialogue has been established at the highest and other levels. Significant results have been achieved in developing trade and economic cooperation: in recent years, mutual trade turnover has increased severalfold, 280 enterprises with Azerbaijani investment have been established, and a joint investment company has been created.

At present, cooperation projects in geology, agriculture, transport, urban planning, textiles, pharmaceuticals and other sectors have entered an active phase.

Important programs are also being implemented in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of State presented Ambassador Huseyn Guliyev with the Mehnat Shuhrati Order for his major contribution to strengthening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The ambassador, in turn, expressed deep gratitude to the country’s leader for the high appreciation of his diplomatic mission and for comprehensive support for the development of broad cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
