Sharof Rashidov's son passed away

Ilhom Sharofovich Rashidov, the son of Sharof Rashidov, has passed away at the age of 72, according to a source from QALAMPIR.UZ.

During his father’s tenure, Ilhom Rashidov did not participate in political affairs, as his father, Sharof Rashidov, preferred to keep him out of politics. However, later in life, Ilhom Rashidov held several high-ranking government positions.

According to the source, Ilhom Rashidov lived in the Orda district of Tashkent. Preparations for his funeral are currently underway, and he will be laid to rest at the Chigatai cemetery in Tashkent. It is expected that representatives of the Uzbek government will attend the funeral.

Notably, former Foreign Minister and special representative of the President for foreign policy matters, Abdulaziz Komilov, is also expected to attend, as he is married to Rashidov's daughter, Gulnara Rashidova.

For context, Sharof Rashidov’s daughter, Svetlana Sharofovna Rashidova, a well-known scientist and public figure, passed away on December 14, 2021, at the age of 70 in the USA.
