Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrives in Uzbekistan for official visit

Today, February 25, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, arrived in Tashkent on an official visit. The press secretary of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Bekzod Hidoyatov, reported this.  

The distinguished guest was received at Tashkent International Airport by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, along with other senior officials.  

Following a brief conversation, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif proceeded to his next destination in accordance with the visit’s agenda.  

The negotiations will focus on strengthening and expanding the Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. Key topics will include increasing mutual trade, enhancing transport connectivity, and maximizing transit potential. Discussions will also cover collaboration in industries such as light and leather manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, and other economic sectors.  

Additionally, the visit will address the intensification of cultural, humanitarian, and tourism ties, along with an exchange of views on pressing international and regional issues. At the conclusion of the summit, a Joint Declaration and several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed.  

As part of the business agenda, the leaders will also take part in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Joint Business Forum.
