4024Today, on August 16, at the 55th plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Making Additions and Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of the Traffic Safety System" was discussed and sent back for revision. A QALAMPIR.UZ journalist reported this from the Senate meeting.
Senator Talibjon Madumarov suggested returning the law for further reworking.
The law has reportedly been sent back for revision. A reconciliation commission of the parliamentary chambers will now be formed.
It should be recalled that on January 11, the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Affairs attempted to "justify" the law banning the distribution of photos and videos of agency employees on the Internet by citing examples of "foreign experience." Specifically, it was noted that such laws exist in developed countries like the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The BBC Uzbek service reviewed the examples provided by the Senate and found the information to be false or inaccurate.
