The policy of sanctions has an extremely negative impact on the countries of Central Asia. On September 17, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed this issue at the second "Central Asia - Germany" summit.

"Conflicts and wars, global instability, uncertainty about the future direction of events, the policy of sanctions, increasing protectionism, and many other factors are having an extremely negative impact on our countries. These challenges are becoming a serious test as we strive to implement our national reforms," said Mirziyoyev.

Mirziyoyev also highlighted the profound and fundamental changes that have taken place in Central Asia in recent years.

"We have established an open and effective dialogue, and we are independently addressing many issues related to borders, water, energy, trade, and transit," stated the leader of Uzbekistan.

It is worth recalling that during the sixth consultative meeting of Central Asian leaders in Astana on August 9, Mirziyoyev emphasized that the events in Ukraine and the Middle East have a direct impact on the stable development of the region. He noted that traditional trade and transport routes have been disrupted, the region has become a captive of the sanctions policy, logistics costs have significantly increased, inflationary pressures have risen, opportunities in the global capital market have diminished, protectionism has grown, and new obstacles have emerged.
