Fatal car accident involving Uzbeks in St. Petersburg leaves one dead

7440On October 29, a tragic car accident involving Uzbek citizens occurred in the Kalinin district of St. Petersburg, Russia, resulting in one fatality. The report, sourced from 78.ru, cites local police.
The accident took place around 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Gjat and Hydrotechnika streets. A 50-year-old Uzbek driver lost control of his Kia vehicle at high speed, crashing into a concrete wall.
According to the report, both the driver and a passenger tested positive for drugs and were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. As a result, the driver sustained serious injuries, including fractures to his leg and pelvis, and was hospitalized.
The 37-year-old passenger was also hospitalized with a head injury and broken rib. Sadly, a second passenger, a 45-year-old Uzbek citizen, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. He suffered extensive injuries, including fractures in his arms and legs.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.
In a related event, a previous accident in Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region involved another Uzbek driver, resulting in the deaths of the driver and three passengers.
