This event was reported by the Ministry of Culture.
At the beginning of the event, the Head of the Department of Social Development of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Odil Abdurahmanov, read out the decrees. The honorary titles were then ceremoniously presented by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli.
"Following the award presentation invited representatives from the cultural and artistic communities applauded and expressed their admiration for the two People's Artists. It was noted during the event that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the fields of culture and art has been significantly strengthened. The bond of friendship and collaboration between the two nations in these areas is rapidly evolving and reaching new heights" the report states.
It is worth noting that various positive initiatives are being undertaken to further enhance international relations in the cultural and artistic spheres between the two countries. For instance, "Days of Uzbek Culture" was held in Baku from January 20 to 26 this year, and "Days of Azerbaijani Culture" was organized in Uzbekistan from June 10 to 14.
It should be recalled that last month, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed a decree awarding the honorary title of "People's Artist" to Farrukh Zakirov. Polat Bulbulugli, who was serving as Azerbaijan's ambassador in Moscow, has recently completed his diplomatic mission.
