Today, March 12, a Boeing 737 (RA-73091) operated by Russia's Utair airline, flying on the Samarkand-Moscow route, returned to Samarkand Airport due to a malfunction (severe vibration) in its left engine during ascent. This was reported by “Aviatorina.”

According to the report, the Utair aircraft experienced two engine surges shortly after takeoff from Uzbekistan. The crew requested a holding area and began inspecting the engine. However, when they attempted to increase engine thrust, another surge occurred, prompting the captain to decide to return to Samarkand.

Following this, the plane circled several times in the air.

“After performing several holding patterns, the pilots landed safely despite exceeding the landing weight,” the report stated.

It was additionally noted that specialists are currently working to identify and resolve the cause of the malfunction.

As a reminder, yesterday, March 11, Uzbekistan Airways flight HY-611 from Tashkent to Moscow was diverted to an alternate airport due to the closure of Vnukovo Airport following a drone attack.
